HEAVYCON click-in contact inserts from Phoenix Contact offer completely screwless assembly for the first time and significantly reduce the assembly effort compared to all known solutions.
Conductors are connected using push-in technology. Rigid and pre-treated conductors are contacted in a shock- and vibration-proof manner by means of feather-light plugging. The protective conductor is also wired using push-in. Fitting the contact insert into the connector housing is then just a simple "click" - without any screws or tools.
Secure installation is confirmed by the audible and perceptible latching action. The force-fit connection of the contact insert to the connector housing is based on a wedge-shaped spring-loaded locking element that engages in an undercut in the housing wall. This undercut is present in all plastic and metal housings of the B-Series HEAVYCON EVO and HEAVYCON STA from Phoenix Contact.
When combined with the HEAVYCON EVO enclosure series, no screws are required at the cable outlet. The cable outlet can be mounted in either a straight or lateral direction using a bayonet lock. This time advantage makes it economical to assemble and wire complex systems at any location, even for small quantities and high variance.
