Seventh axis for robots

With the Rail System, Rollon offers a modular system of various heavy-duty linear axes and guides that can be used to add a seventh axis to robot applications.

The entire robot moves on a linear axis close to the floor. Small to medium-sized robots with a maximum dead weight of 2 tons can be moved. The linear axis is primarily constructed using 'Tecline' profiles from the supplier, prismatic roller or profile rail guides with rack and pinion drive. For example, the articulated robot can run parallel to a production line on the linear axis and carry out manipulations. It can also be expanded into a mobile feeder robot that serves several feed points for workpieces. Individual linear axes can be up to 12 m long; for longer ranges, several carriers can be butt-jointed.
