Relay module with positively driven double armature relay

Elesta extends the 6.5 mm relay module family 'SMF' with a 4-pole version with 3 AK and 1 RK

The variant uses the double armature relay from the 'SID4' series with two independent contact sets. This makes it possible to integrate additional relay contacts into 2-channel functional safety architectures with just one module. The module has the advantage that only one relay coil is controlled and yet two independent contact sets in the relay with contacts connected in parallel ensure that a safe switch-off path is available. The 3 AK/ 1 RK equipped contact sets have prong crown contacts for switching currents from 3 mA to 8 A. Coil voltages of 12 V(DC) and 24 V(DC) are available as standard.

Individual coil voltages can be realized at short notice. According to Elesta, the use of one relay coil reduces the current consumption by around 40 % compared to two comparable relays with a 4-pole contact set. In contrast to relays on relay sockets with top-hat rail mounting, the modules are better protected against tampering and more robust against shock, vibration and environmental influences such as temperature changes. It also offers installation using plug-in connection terminals with screw and push-in technology. Display of the control and protective circuit as well as reverse polarity protection are an integral part of the module.
