Micro switch series completed
With the 'Micon 5 S', 'Micon 5 SL' and 'Micon 5 Safety' model series, Rafi has introduced a new generation of robust short-stroke pushbuttons in miniature format to the market.
Measuring just 5.1 mm x 6.4 mm x 3.85 mm, the micro switches from Rafi achieve protection class IP54 or IPX7 thanks to their optimized sealing system and are therefore also suitable for use on PCBs protected by potting, painting or nanocoating. With a temperature resistance of -40 to +125 °C, they meet the current standards of the automotive industry. High-quality gold contacts ensure lasting switching reliability.
The micro switches, which are available for actuating forces from 1.5 N to 8 N, are also available in the durable Micon 5 SL version. According to Rafi, this push-button version, developed for particularly heavy-duty applications - such as in joysticks and other control units designed for high loads - guarantees up to 10 million actuation cycles.
As a third option, the micro switches are available in a safety version. With identical dimensions, the Micon 5 Safety series integrates two potential-free NC and NO contacts that are separated from each other. Due to their two-channel contact system, these models are predestined for safety-critical applications that meet the functional safety requirements of IEC 61508, DIN EN ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 60601, DIN EN ISO 25119, DIN EN 50128 or ISO 26262.
