Hanover Fair 2019Winner of the 'Hermes Award 2019' chosen
The start-up NanoWired has won the 'Hermes Award 2019'. It received the 100,000 euro industry prize for its innovative 'KlettWelding' connection technology, which allows electrical components to be easily joined together at room temperature.

According to the Hermes Award jury, the 'NiTemp' product from ABB is an innovative temperature measuring device with non-invasive sensor technology. In the process industry, temperatures inside pipes are usually measured invasively using built-in thermometers, whereby the pipes must be drilled through at the measuring point and a protective tube must also be installed. In contrast to existing measuring methods, 'NiTemp' measures the temperature on the surface and therefore eliminates the need for thermowells and direct intervention in the process. In addition to increased safety, the system also impresses in terms of reliability, accuracy, simplicity, temperature range and response times. As no shutdown is required for installation and service, system costs are lowered and capital expenditure reduced. Already successfully in use, the 'NiTemp' temperature measurement method is mainly used in the food and beverage industry, but also in the gas, oil and chemical industries.
