Hanover Fair 2019Winner of the 'Hermes Award 2019' chosen

The start-up NanoWired has won the 'Hermes Award 2019'. It received the 100,000 euro industry prize for its innovative 'KlettWelding' connection technology, which allows electrical components to be easily joined together at room temperature.

Deutsche Messe has presented the 'Hermes Award 2019' industry prize to the Hesse-based company NanoWired: Its award-winning 'KlettWelding' joining process is based on nanowires that are applied to any surface like a metallic lawn (see image). By simply pressing the parts prepared in this way together, the wires hook together like Velcro - with the difference that the connection is permanently stable and extremely electrically and thermally conductive. Once joined together, the connection is resistant to high temperatures and can therefore be exposed to extreme ambient heat or extreme temperatures - conditions under which soldered or bonded connections have long been destroyed.
