Lapp
Growth in all regions
The Stuttgart-based Lapp Group closed the 2014/2015 financial year with significant sales growth - the company reported an increase of 8.1%.
After two years of flat sales growth, the Lapp Group's sales rose to EUR 886 million in the last financial year (October 1 to September 30). Earnings before taxes increased by 11.3% to 41.3 million euros. According to the company, initiatives in the sales area, activities in the infrastructure segment, the systems business and the development of new market segments were the main contributors to this growth. The increase in turnover was also positively influenced by the currency trend outside the eurozone - the copper price, which is important for the company, rose only marginally on average over the year (from EUR 525/100 kg to EUR 527/100 kg).
Turnover developed positively in all three regions of the Group:
- Europe is the most important sales market, accounting for 66.5% of total sales. Here, sales rose by 2.8% to EUR 589.6 million (previous year: EUR 573.7 million). The most important individual market here is Germany, which accounts for over 30% of sales, with sales of 268.5 million euros in 2014/2015 (previous year: 264.8 million euros).
- The Americas (USA, Canada, Central and South America) increased sales by 26.1% to EUR 107.7 million (previous year: EUR 85.4 million). This also increased the share of sales from 10.4% to 12.2%.
- Asia (including Africa, Australia and New Zealand) recorded sales growth of 17.4% to EUR 188.9 million (previous year: EUR 160.9 million). The share of sales rose to 21.3%.
The company anticipates moderate sales growth for the current financial year. Andreas Lapp, CEO of Lapp Holding: "We expect important impetus to come primarily from Asia and America as well as Central Europe. However, volatilities in exchange rates and the copper price may influence growth."
