Flame-retardant enclosure series
The 'ABS IP54 1556' product family from Hammond Electronics comprises 14 flame-retardant enclosures in flammability class UL94-V0.
An evolution of the recently launched IP68 rated 1557 polycarbonate series, the new enclosure series features the same rounded corner and front panel design, but also includes rectangular versions to complement the 1557 series square formats. The ABS material is sealed to IP54 for general indoor use and is less expensive than the polycarbonate of the 1557 series, which is intended for outdoor installation and aggressive environments. The top is secured to the base with self-tapping screws, making it ideal for applications where repeated opening and closing is not required. According to Hammond Electronics, the enclosure offers a range of features and numerous configuration and customization options. There are several spacers in the top and bottom sections for PCB mounting.
