Igus takes over assembly provider

Igus has taken over the company Elko Verbindungstechnik. With this step, the company is expanding its assembly capacities in the field of drive technology.

The assembly of cables for moving applications is a core competence of Igus. These are manufactured according to industrial standards or individual specifications. Elko Verbindungstechnik, also an owner-managed company from Kirchheim am Neckar, specializes in assembling cables and connectors into customer-specific systems and cable harnesses, which are primarily used in mechanical engineering and the automotive industry. The proximity to the numerous customers in southern Germany enables Igus to respond more flexibly and quickly to the individual needs of its customers, according to the company.

At the same time, Igus is further expanding its production capacity with the takeover of Elko by increasing its production space and consistently automating its manufacturing processes. The result is a production network with short throughput and delivery times.
