Körber wants to take over Fargo
The Hamburg-based technology group Körber is planning to acquire Fargo Automation, a company based in Fargo, North Dakota (USA). Fargo specializes in packaging systems for the pharmaceutical and medical industries.
Körber Medipak Systems, the holding company of Körber's Business Area Pharma Systems, and its North American subsidiary of the same name intend to expand their offering for customers in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries with the planned acquisition. Fargo Automation develops and builds customized packaging systems for pharmaceutical products. This includes solutions for handling syringes. The company also offers complete solutions for the integration of entire packaging lines. Fargo Automation employs around 70 people. The takeover is still subject to the approval of Körber AG's Supervisory Board.
Körber AG is the holding company of an international technology group with over 11,000 employees worldwide. Since 2013, this group has included the Lahnau-based drive technology specialist LTI Motion (formerly LTI Drives), which emerged from Lust Antriebstechnik, a company founded in 1971.
