Focus on high-speed applications

On the way to the SD4x series of frequency inverters for high-speed applications, Sieb & Meyer has made the software basis and control platform ready for series production, developed an additional drive function and further developed the 'Motor Analyzer' tool.

On the way to the SD4x series of frequency inverters for high-speed applications, Sieb & Meyer has brought the software basis and control platform to series maturity, developed an additional drive function and further developed the 'Motor Alanyzer' tool.

This year, the main focus was on the software and logic basis for the frequency inverter series. The plan is to launch the 'SD4S' version at the beginning of 2021. This version is designed for small high-speed spindles or motors in the power range of a few 100 watts and thus closes a gap in the frequency inverter product portfolio. The focus in 2021 will be on expanding the power range of the SD4S variants - starting with a control cabinet variant with 1.5 kVA.

The existing drive functions have been expanded to include vector control for asynchronous motors with encoder feedback. In addition, the 'Motor Analyzer' in drivemaster4 has been further developed. The tool enables simulations of the operation of frequency inverters so that an FFT analysis of the simulated output current can now be carried out.
