Record sales for Sieb & Meyer

The coronavirus year 2020 brought Sieb & Meyer record sales. The CNC control business area was the main contributor to this.

Control and drive specialist Sieb & Meyer achieved record results in the past 2020 financial year, particularly in the CNC controls business segment. However, the drive electronics business area is also solid: frequency inverters for high-speed motors achieved sales at a good level. "Despite the COVID-19 crisis, this upward trend has continued for over a year now," says Markus Meyer, CEO of Sieb & Meyer. "We are of course doubly pleased about the extremely good order situation in these difficult times."

The background to the increased demand for CNC controls is the global expansion of 5G mobile networks. The PCBs required for this can only be manufactured with the required quality and productivity using CNC control technology. Sieb & Meyer is considered a global market leader in this field.

Drive electronics at a good level

However, the drive technology division with its frequency inverters and servo drives also reported a good level of sales, according to the company. Here the company emphasizes the three-level inverter SD2M, which is constantly opening up new markets. Sieb & Meyer is currently building a new production/storage hall with approx. 450 square meters to expand the production capacity of the SD2M product area.
