Bosch Rexroth would like to strengthen its activities in the field of factory automation and is therefore acquiring Elmo Motion Control. The Israeli company specializes in technologically sophisticated, compact servo drives and drive controls. According to Bosch Rexroth, these electric servo drives and drive controls are intelligently designed and guarantee fully certified functional safety. The products are particularly well suited to the semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, electrical industry, robotics, medical technology, automated guided vehicle systems (AGV), automated warehousing, packaging and food industries.

"Elmo technology makes it possible to integrate drives the size of a smartphone into robots or autonomous transport vehicles, for example," says Thomas Fechner, Head of Automation and Electrification Solutions at Bosch Rexroth. "Elmo technologies are thus opening up new fields of application that involve special technical challenges, such as autonomous transport vehicles, service robotics or the decentralized arrangement of drives in machines. This is where Elmo products really come into their own, especially thanks to their motion performance, compactness, energy efficiency and precision with high dynamics."
