Bonfiglioli lays foundation stone for new headquarters
The Italian company Bonfiglioli has laid the foundation stone for its new headquarters in Calderara di Reno. In addition to the head office, the central plant for industrial drive technology, the group's traditional business area, is to be built there.
A plant with a production area of 58,600 m² is being built on an area of almost 150 hectares near Bologna. As part of the new building, three existing production plants in the Bologna area will be merged into one. The project goes by the name "EVO", which symbolizes evolution and therefore also significant change within the Group. EVO is intended to form the foundation for the successful leap into digitalization, the realignment of working methods and production for Industry 4.0.
Since 2013, Bonfiglioli Riduttori has grown by an average of +7.1% per year, i.e. by 32.3% in total. In 2017, sales of around 808 million euros were achieved, setting a new historical record, with the largest market growth in Asia and America. The Group currently employs around 3,700 people worldwide. In terms of investment, the Group has decided to invest EUR 145 million over three years to strengthen its production-related presence at national level.
