Bonfiglioli divests PV division
The Italian drive technology manufacturer Bonfiglioli is selling its photovoltaic division to the Spanish company Ingeteam and intends to focus more strongly on its core business in future.
Bonfiglioli has been active in the development, production and supply of grid-connected inverters in the PV sector since 2008 and, according to its own statement, has installed an output of around 3 GW worldwide to date. Ingeteam has been active in the photovoltaic sector for over 16 years and has an installed capacity of 5 GW worldwide. The Spanish company, based in Bilbao, manufactures a comprehensive range of photovoltaic inverters for grid feed-in and equips PV systems for the residential, commercial and utility scale sectors. Ingeteam also manufactures medium-voltage stations and battery inverters for off-grid and grid-connected operation.
Through the acquisition, Ingeteam hopes to gain access to a significant number of orders and expand its own operations and maintenance business. "This strategic integration will strengthen our presence in the United States and India, the two most important markets for Ingeteam in the PV sector," said David Solé, Managing Director of Ingeteam's Energy division.
