Bonfiglioli looks back on a record year
With a turnover of EUR 730 million in 2015, Italian drive specialist Bonfiglioli has reported the record year in its almost sixty-year history. After 653 million euros in 2014, this represents growth of almost 12%.
Bonfiglioli has thus achieved growth of around 22% over the past five years. According to Tiziano Pacetti, CEO Corporate, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization also reached "a satisfactory level" at EUR 62 million.
In terms of regions, the emphasis shifted further towards Asia and America. 58% of the sales volume was generated in Europe and the Middle East, and 21% each in the Asia/Pacific and Americas regions. In terms of product groups, drives for mobile machinery accounted for around a third of sales, while drives for wind turbines accounted for just under a fifth. Industrial applications, mining and metallurgical plants, power generation and process engineering accounted for the other half of sales. Bonfiglioli employed 3,375 people at the end of 2015, of which a good 2,100 were in Europe, around 1,100 in Asia/Pacific and 170 in the Americas. The figures particularly reflect the locations of the production plants in Italy, Germany, Slovakia, India and Vietnam.
