It is not the age of mechanical and plant engineers that determines the level of their salaries, but their qualifications. This is one of the findings of the new '2016 Salary Study for Specialists and Managers', which has now been published by the VDMA.

... Starting salaries for students with a Bachelor's and Master's degree. Bachelor's students receive an average of 45,000 euros per year at the start of their careers, while Master's students receive around 48,000 euros. However, according to the companies, these starting salaries vary greatly depending on the role and field of work.
