Salary report 2016
Salaries in mechanical and plant engineering
It is not the age of mechanical and plant engineers that determines their salaries, but their qualifications. This is one of the findings of the new '2016 Salary Study for Specialists and Managers', which has now been published by the VDMA.
For the 2016 salary study, the German EngineeringFederation (VDMA) and the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg Weiden analyzed the responses from a total of 135 companies with a total of almost 49,000 employees. Around 34,600 case numbers were ultimately evaluated. Almost 60% of the participating companies have fewer than 200 employees and are therefore typical of medium-sized mechanical engineering companies in Germany, according to the association. 44% of respondents are based in rural areas, 42% in a city and 14% in a large city. VDMA member companies can obtain the complete study for a fee. Computer&AUTOMATION has compiled some of the results in a picture gallery.
