Job study 2019 / Ernst & Young
Fear of job loss - especially in mechanical engineering
The German economic engine is stuttering and employees are increasingly worried about losing their jobs. According to the latest 'EY Job Study 2019', employees in the mechanical engineering sector in particular are very willing to change jobs. Many no longer consider their job to be secure.
Every two years, management consultants Ernst & Young (EY) carry out a job study for which they survey a representative sample of 1510 employees across all sectors in Germany. One of the key findings: Only two in five employees still consider their own job to be very secure. In the previous survey in 2017, this figure was still over half (53%).
