Universally applicable flow sensors

The Alsonic flow sensor family from Allengra is based on ultrasonic technology and can be adapted for a wide range of applications and expanded to include additional sensor functions such as temperature and pressure measurement to create a multifunctional sensor.

Ultrasonic flow sensors can significantly reduce pressure losses thanks to their design, which does not require mechanical totalizers or moving parts, thus considerably increasing the efficiency of heat pumps, for example. At just 30 mBar at 2000 liters per hour, the pressure drop of the Alsonic DN15 sensor is lower than almost any other flow meter on the market, according to the manufacturer. Optionally, the Alsonic sensor's integrated temperature sensor with stainless steel sleeve (PT1000) directly in the medium ensures a higher reaction speed to rapid temperature changes in the medium. Furthermore, an additional external PT1000 temperature sensor can be used to measure the medium temperature in the flow or return, which can then be used to calculate the heat quantity.
The series offers a measuring accuracy of 3 to 4% of the current measured value (not of the maximum value) and a measuring dynamic of up to 1:5000. The wetted parts of the sensor series are made of the semi-crystalline high-performance plastic PPS in the plastic version and have drinking water approval. In the metal version, Allengra uses brass as standard - EPDM and PPS are also in contact with the medium. As an inline version with a particularly hygienic design, the sensor has no dead spaces and the media temperature can vary between 0 and +90 °C (+110 °C for short periods). This means it can be used in almost all liquid media, even in non-conductive media such as deionized water or in hygienically sensitive media such as milk.
