The scanners have three protective fields with a range of up to 5.5 m at a 275° protective field radius and two warning fields that cover up to 40 m simultaneously. Up to four scanners can be connected to one system, with just one connection cable for power supply, inputs and outputs. In order to solve different applications, the resolutions can be flexibly set to 30, 40, 50, 70 or 150 mm via software. According to Datalogic, the safety laser scanner is equipped with partial, dynamic muting and enables access depending on the size of the material. At the same time, it protects users by only allowing material to pass, but stopping the machine immediately as soon as a person approaches the designated protective fields.

To safeguard driverless transport systems, the device can save up to 70 different configurations and activate them depending on the position and speed of the system. The speeds are made available via encoder inputs. The safety laser scanner is suitable for temperatures down to -10 °C and therefore also for cooled environments.
