According to the management team Lothar and Gebhard Kübler and Martin Huth, the figures were on target until the end of the first quarter of 2020, "but then came corona". A significant decline in incoming orders was already noticeable in April, although production was still running at full capacity for a long time thanks to the high order intake in Q1. This 'order buffer' lasted until mid-June. Since then, the company has introduced short-time working and made further savings. Since the end of August, Kübler has recorded a slight increase in incoming orders. At the moment, however, it is only possible to plan for the future. The company management currently expects to record a decline in turnover of between 5% and 8% at the end of the year compared to 2019 - Group turnover in 2019 amounted to 65 million euros. Business in China has been picking up again significantly for some time now. According to Kübler, the export share is still around 72%.

The company intends to continue its innovation strategy and development projects almost unchanged, although the priorities are changing in terms of timing. The innovations for 2020 are IO-Link products such as encoders, draw-wire encoders and displays, a new generation of industrial Ethernet encoders as 'Industry 4.0 ready', the further development of the 'Ants' shaft copying systems for elevators and smart bearingless encoders for drives and generators.
