Pepperl+Fuchs
Generational change at Management Board level
After three decades of continuity at the top of the company, Pepperl+Fuchs is repositioning itself: Dr. Gunther Kegel, CEO for many years, and Werner Guthier, CFO, are stepping down from the Executive Board as planned to make way for a younger generation.
Gunther Kegel and Werner Guthier will initially remain with the family shareholders of Pepperl+Fuchs in an advisory capacity. They will be succeeded by Dr. Wilhelm Nehring as CEO and Martin Walter as CFO - a deliberate and long-planned rejuvenation to actively shape the future of the company. Both will take up their duties on May 1, 2025.
Dr. Nehring was most recently CEO of a mechanical engineering company and previously held a management position in the electrical industry, while Martin Walter held the role of Senior Vice President Controlling & Accounting at an internationally active German industrial company. The entire Management Board of Pepperl+Fuchs is convinced that the professional expertise, strategic thinking and innovative approaches of Dr. Nehring and Martin Walter will enrich Pepperl+Fuchs with new ideas and a modern management culture.
"After more than 30 years of responsibility for this company, it is of course not easy to hand over the reins. You don't want to leave the role without knowing that a successor will carry on this task with just as much passion. But I am absolutely convinced of Dr. Wilhelm Nehring and Martin Walter: they have great potential and also have the spirit and vision needed to lead Pepperl+Fuchs into a successful future. The two of them have what it takes," says Dr. Gunther Kegel. Together with the family shareholders and Chief Human Resources Officer Florian Ochs, he has prepared the transition over a long period of time to ensure the continuity and stability of the company.
