The encoder kit is particularly suitable for use in motor feedback systems and multi-axis applications in which the hollow shafts are used to feed through functional components or have to accommodate additional attachments. The bearingless absolute encoder system with optical scanning, round code disks and mounting flanges is designed for mounting on hollow shafts with internal diameters of 10 mm, 30 mm or 100 mm. As a single-turn solution with selectable resolutions of 13 to 18 bits and relative angular accuracies of up to 0.01 mm, it covers a wide range of drive and measurement applications. The encoder kit from PWB encoders is offered with BiSS, SSI and SPI interfaces as standard, meaning it can be used flexibly in various industrial drive, measurement and automation technology systems. The smallest version of the kit measures 40 mm x 36.5 mm x 13.8 mm. Depending on the specific requirements, the installation situation and the dimensions of the rotating hollow shaft, the diameters of the moving elements (hub with code disk) can grow to external diameters of up to 69 mm and 138 mm. The fixed sensor head, on the other hand, always retains its size. In terms of temperature compatibility, the rotary encoder kit is designed for operating temperatures from -25 to +85° C.
