The winners of the 2017 national final of Jugend forscht have been announced: at the end of May, Federal Education Minister Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka presented awards to the best young researchers. ... Frederik Dunschen (18). He has developed a highly original mini drone. His monocopter, called 'roflCopter', consists of a single, two-bladed rotor that is set in rotation by two tiny propellers. This rotation then allows the flying object to take off - as if a helicopter were rotating around itself during flight. Controlling the tiny device proved to be a challenge during development.
