The winners of the 2017 national final of Jugend forscht have been announced: at the end of May, Federal Education Minister Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka presented awards to the best young researchers. Luca Fäth (17) is this year's national winner in the field of technology. He designed an alternative to the self-balancing Segways, which he believes are overpriced. His unicycle keeps itself balanced. A wooden housing with seat and handles houses the battery and the electric motor, which drives the wheel of the scooter with a belt.
