Hanover Fair 2018Winner of the Hermes Award 2018 chosen
This year, Endress+Hauser Messtechnik - a specialist in process measurement technology - won the Hermes Award 2018. The industry prize, endowed with 100,000 euros, was presented by Anja Karliczek, Federal Minister of Education and Research, during the opening ceremony of the trade fair.

In 2018, Deutsche Messe presented the Industry Prize Hermes Award to the Weil am Rhein-based company Endress+Hauser Messtechnik: its award-winning product 'iTherm TrustSens TM371' is a hygienic compact thermometer. It has a self-calibrating sensor for safety and quality-relevant process temperature measurements, such as those required in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The automatic temperature calibration of the sensor is carried out using the material-specific, exact and long-term stable Curie temperature of an internal reference sensor integrated in the sensor. The fully automated inline calibration of the temperature sensor is audit-proof and avoids additional work processes for regular recalibration.
In addition to Endress+Hauser, the following companies were nominated for the Hermes Award 2018:
