Tommy Heckert, William Tasnadi, Svenja Hermann and Loic Kautzmann (from left to right) from TU Ilmenau were delighted to win third prize. They entered the international competition with their theft-proof bag 'ProBag'. Their prototype is a module that is integrated into a bag as a lock system to prevent the theft of valuables from the bag and the theft of the bag itself. The security functions can be selected and activated via mobile devices. Microsystem-supported actuators and sensors provide personalized access by the owner and detect their movement patterns. If the system detects theft, for example due to a strange movement pattern, the system sounds an alarm and informs the owner with a warning signal via smartphone.
