Successful year despite geopolitical challenges
According to the company, 2025 ended on a very positive note for the ifm Group. Adjusted for currency effects, turnover increased by 10 percent to EUR 1.47 billion.
"This very positive result for 2025 is particularly remarkable because we managed to achieve the high level of growth worldwide, almost as planned, despite the geopolitical challenges," says Christoph von Rosenberg, CFO of the Group. Falling demand on the German market, particularly due to the weak order situation in the mechanical engineering sector, was offset by strong growth in the Asia/Pacific region and the Americas. According to ifm, customers were particularly impressed by many product innovations in the process industry, which led to significant growth in this segment.
Despite the significant exchange rate effects, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased slightly by 1% to EUR 69 million compared to the previous year. The number of employees rose to around 9120, of which more than 5260 work in Germany. A total of around 1500 people are employed in research and development.
Following the change of name to the new ifm group se on January 1, 2025, the investor KKR has held a minority stake since October 2025. With this partnership, the family-owned company aims to secure future success and sustainable growth for the next generation. One highlight in April 2025 was the start of construction for a new plant in Suzhou, China. Production at the sustainable production facility in accordance with the DGNB Gold standard is expected to start in the first quarter of 2027.
