Sensor+Test 2018
Highest exhibitor value for ten years
Sensor+Test, which ended after three days on June 28, 2018, boasted the highest number of exhibitors in ten years. The proportion of exhibitors from abroad also reached a new high.
Almost 8,000 trade visitors - compared to 8,107 in 2017 - used the measurement technology trade fair to find out about the latest developments in sensor, measurement and testing technology at the stands of the 591 exhibitors (previous year: 569) and in the lecture forums. The proportion of exhibitors from abroad rose to over 40%. According to organizer AMA Service, Sensor+Test has thus "impressively confirmed its position as the world's leading event for sensor, measuring and testing technology".
Christoph Kleye, Chairman of the Exhibitor Advisory Board, reports that exhibitors were overwhelmingly satisfied: "The first day of the fair in particular exceeded expectations. Overall, the flow of visitors was better distributed both over the days of the trade fair and in the exhibition halls. We observed that visitors spent more time at the stands, which contributed to a very relaxed atmosphere overall."
Holger Bödeker, Managing Director of AMA Service, confirms: "The concerns about the later date of the trade fair proved to be largely unfounded. We are convinced that the new, now fixed date in the last week of June will become firmly established in the industry's diaries."
The accompanying 19th ITG/GMA Symposium Sensors and Measuring Systems 2018 on the first two days of the trade fair was also well attended. The conference directors, Prof. Dr. Leonhard Reindl (University of Freiburg) and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wöllenstein(Fraunhofer IPM, Freiburg), can look back on a conference program with five parallel sessions for the first time and almost 170 presentations and posters, as well as a positive attendance trend.
In 2019, Sensor+Test - with the special theme "Sensors and Measurement Technology for Process Automation" - will take place from 25 to 27 June 2019 at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg. The focus will continue to be on networking and digital transformation. Next year, the trade fair will be accompanied by the 20th GMA/ITG Sensors and Measurement Systems Conference 2019.
