Ondosense
Four adjustable sensor zones
With 'OndoSense reach WA' (Wide Angle), Ondosense has developed a compact radar sensor for collision avoidance, vehicle detection and object positioning.
With its wide detection range, the sensor is particularly suitable for detecting obstacles such as vehicles, people or objects as well as for positioning robots and machines. It detects static and moving objects at close range from 0.1 m to at least 25 m and can also be integrated in confined spaces thanks to its very small design. With a maximum of four adjustable sensor zones, the sensor is suitable for flexible monitoring of safety areas or collision avoidance of mobile robots or other vehicles. It detects objects of all kinds, even outdoors or in difficult environments with dirt, smoke, steam, rain or poor lighting conditions. Thanks to its measuring rate of 200 Hz, it detects obstacles even during fast movements. The maximum of four sensor zones can be set independently of each other via three switching points using configuration software. By connecting the sensor to the machine control system, for example, the speed of an AGV can be automatically adjusted in several stages up to an emergency stop. With its M30 design and a length of just 92 mm, the radar sensor is one of the smallest radar sensors for collision protection and object positioning, according to the manufacturer. It has an RS485 communication protocol, three digital switching outputs (PNP/NPN) and an analog current interface (4 to 20 mA). An IO-Link version will be available from 2025. The sensor can operate interfaces such as Profinet or CAN via a gateway.
