AMA Innovation Award 2016 / Sensor+Test
Five teams from biomedical engineering nominated
Out of 40 international submissions, the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement has nominated five applications for the 'AMA Innovation Award 2016', which is endowed with 10,000 euros - remarkably, all of them come from the field of biomedical technology.
The decisive criteria for the nomination were the level of innovation, the originality of the solutions and the market relevance of the submitted research and development work. In the case of basic scientific developments, at least a prompt implementation in competitive products had to be recognizable.
Here are the nominees:
- d'Bioimager - 4D microscope camera (winner of the 'Young Enterprise 2016' special award)
Nanyang Technological University and d'Optron Pte Ltd, Singapore, Nanjing University, Singapore - Gas sensor capsule as a novel diagnostic tool,
RMIT University, Melbourne - Haptic assistance system for coronary angiography,
TU Darmstadt, EMK Institute, EPflex Feinwerktechnik GmbH, CIS GmbH - Magnetic flow cytometry (MRCyte),
Siemens Healthcare, Erlangen, Sensitec, Sencio, M2 Automation - Nerves of glass - fiber optic 3D positioning of cardiac catheters,
Fraunhofer HHI, Goslar, Photonics Incubator/Fraunhofer HHI, Photonics Incubator, Göttingen
The winner(s) of the 'AMA Innovation Award 2016' will be announced on May 10, 2016 at the opening event of Sensor+Test in Nuremberg.
