VDMA study 'Industrial Security 2019' - the results
After 2013, the VDMA has once again conducted a survey on industrial security among manufacturing companies in Germany. The key results in a series of images.
Many companies in the mechanical engineering sector are aware of the risk of cyber attacks, but are not adequately equipped against them. This is one of the key findings of a new VDMA study on industrial security. "Around 60% of companies assume that the number of security incidents will increase over the next few years. These incidents already pose a threat, as the companies concerned can confirm. Half of those surveyed report financial losses as a result, and a good 30% cite production downtime," says Steffen Zimmermann, Head of the VDMA Competence Center Industrial Security.
The VDMA offers member companies comprehensive support on security. The focus here is on helping them to help themselves, exchange ideas and provide political support at national and international level. Several committees on security, comprehensive publications and events are open to members. The entire study can be requested as a PDF from the VDMA.
