To this end, Schmersal will establish the new subsidiary tec.nicum - Solutions & Services on April 8, 2024, which will also incorporate Fimra Omnicon Engineering, which Schmersal acquired in 2019. The new company will be based in Kirkel-Limbach in Saarland.

Bruno Ricardo Diniz, who previously managed tec.nicum's Latin American business, is now head of the newly founded subsidiary and also Head of Global tec.nicum. The European business of tec.nicum - Solutions & Services will be supported by Enildo Caetano dos Santos as Business Development Manager, the team in Germany by Carsten Doll as Site Manager in Kirkel and Tobias Keller as Sales Manager.

"Our customers benefit from our technical know-how, our expertise in functional safety and our application experience, bundled in a global organization that takes advantage of new technologies such as lidar, augmented reality and digitalization. For example, we will support our customers in North and South America with the expertise of our Brazilian engineers, while the new company in Europe and the Indian team in Asia will be deployed," explains Bruno Diniz. "We will also significantly expand our portfolio of safety services."

To this end, the four pillars on which tec.nicum's offering has been built to date - knowledge transfer, consulting, technical planning and execution - will be supplemented by two more: digitalization and outsourcing. tec.nicum is increasingly offering newly developed software solutions, such as a tool for carrying out risk assessments, as well as digital technologies such as cloud solutions, IIoT applications, digitalized lockout-tagout procedures and energy management tools.

Users are offered the opportunity to completely outsource all tasks related to machine safety, from the design of safety solutions to the planning and installation of control cabinets. tec.nicum provides users with ready-to-connect plug & play products if required.

tec.nicum currently employs 162 people worldwide, mainly technicians and Functional Safety Engineers certified by TÜV Rheinland. As part of the expansion of the service offering and the development of the organization, the number of employees is set to increase significantly in order to expand the global network of experts.
