Platform combines safety and security

Hima is presenting the Smart Safety Platform under the motto 'Discover Safecurity'. This is a solution that combines safety and security by harmonizing hardware and software.

The platform concept works like this: Hima selects the appropriate hardware and software components together with the user and installs them in the systems. Existing solutions from the provider can continue to be used or be updated to the latest generation. By switching to the platform, the system operator complies with all essential safety standards. According to the provider, the proprietary, self-contained operating system of the safety controllers reduces the risks of cyber attacks to a minimum. Backwards-compatible software and hardware updates ensure a high level of future-proofing and always keep the safety and security of a system up to date. Thanks to the standardized hardware and software basis, the platform reduces the effort required to operate and maintain security systems. Expansions and system adaptations are also simplified. Both decentralized and centralized concepts can be flexibly implemented with the help of the platform. An important component of the platform is the 'HIQuad X' safety system. All Hima controllers are united in the platform: they can communicate with each other via Safe Ethernet, have a standardized operating system and the same programming environment.
