Outlook for it-sa 2019

NürnbergMesse has provided an outlook for this year's it-sa. For the first time, the security trade fair will occupy four exhibition halls. Among other things, there will be around 350 presentations, a start-up competition and a joint stand for the Basque Country.

it-sa has been a must-attend event for security experts for years. As in the past, the congress program, which includes the annual conference of IT security officers in federal states and municipalities, starts the day before the trade fair (7 October). The same applies to the start-up competition, in which young companies can present themselves in a speed pitch and win coaching and mentoring from the Digital Hub Cybersecurity and the Bavarian IT Security Cluster.

Hall 11 has been added to complement Hall 9 and the two-storey Hall 10 - this was the only way to meet the wishes of many exhibitors for larger stands and create space for numerous new additions. "Today, five months before it-sa 2019, the stand space of the exhibitors who have registered so far has already exceeded the result of the last event," says Frank Venjakob, Executive Director of it-sa. It can be assumed that the record number of exhibitors of just under 700 from the previous year will be exceeded once again.

To ensure that the number of visitors also continues to rise - over 14,000 came last October - the organizer NürnbergMesse is working on an attractive supporting programme. The first highlights have already been announced. For example, there will once again be a separate exhibition area for start-ups and international joint stands, including those of the Basque Country. The open forums will feature around 350 presentations on legal issues, current threats and trending topics such as AI in security or securing critical infrastructures and Industry 4.0.
