Long-term cooperation for digital rail solutions
Pilz and Pintsch are jointly developing control and signalling technology for the digitalization of railroads. The cooperation partners are taking the next step in their collaboration with the signing of a framework supply agreement.
In July 2023, Susanne Kunschert, Managing Partner of Pilz, and Tilo Brandis, Managing Director of Pintsch, signed a framework supply agreement. The development partnership focuses on solutions designed to drive forward the digitalization of rail infrastructure. "Even at this early stage of our collaboration, we can see that our automation solutions can be used perfectly for many rail digitization projects and can make an important contribution to the modernization of rail infrastructure," says Susanne Kunschert.
An initial result of the collaboration is the jointly developed 'Eulynx Object Controller', which translates digital control commands from the interlockings into signals for track-side components. Pilz contributes to this with its safe rail control system. According to the company, the special feature of the solution is its generic use, which can be transferred to different projects. The Eulynx standard provides a manufacturer-independent interface between different control and safety technology components.
The Pilz Object Controller will already be in use from the fall: In the 'Zwieseler Spinne' project, Pintsch is using Pilz technology to demonstrate the concrete implementation of digital solutions for the modernization of signalling and interlocking technology. The project is part of the fast-track program of the federal government, the railroad industry and Deutsche Bahn.
