Pilz hosted its annual press conference on April 6: In addition to the figures for the past financial year 2015, the provider of safe automation solutions from Ostfildern also announced the first information on the Hannover Messe innovations.
With 'PSENmlock', Pilz is launching a new door guard on the market that combines safe guard door monitoring and safe guard locking for personnel and process protection up to the highest safety category PL e in a single device. With its guard locking force of 7500 N and the integrated latching force of 30 N, the door guard is particularly suitable for machines with dangerous overtravel, where safe guard locking up to PL d or PL e is absolutely essential. In addition, an integrated mechanical restart interlock prevents accidental activation of the guard locking. Last but not least, unintentional or premature opening of the safety device poses the greatest safety risk for the operator on machines with overtravel. It is therefore particularly important to avoid the dangerous situation when deactivating a switch. The two-channel control of the guard locking with PSENmlock ensures that there is no longer any danger when the door is opened.
