Focus on safety
BBH Products is all about safety. With the 'SSCU1' series, for example, the company offers a freely programmable and configurable safety controller with an integrated scanner interface.
With up to six connected scanners, the safety controller from BBH Products is suitable as a platform for applying the safety functions required for AGVs as well as for area monitoring in the production area (image). Special program modules for steering angle and speed-dependent area switching or status-dependent activation of monitoring areas simplify the implementation of even complex tasks. With a cycle time of 4 ms, the series guarantees a fast response to dynamic processes, according to the supplier.
Programming, parameterization and diagnostics/validation are simple and transparent using the 'SafePLC²'. The basic version of the series has 16 safe inputs, eight safe outputs and four encoder interfaces for optional connection of ABZ, HTL, Sincos, Resolver, SSI, HDSL or EnDAT2.2. An Ethercat interface with FSoE master function is also available. The series is suitable for applications up to PL e (EN ISO 13849-1) / SIL3 (IEC 61508).
Safety controller with encoder interface
The company has added four variants to the 'SMX' series for connecting barcode-based safe positioning systems. In addition to the Sincos, TTL, HTL, resolver and SSI encoder interfaces, the PXV variant is a safe absolute positioning system based on a special barcode and single read head. The safe position and speed data it generates can be used for monitoring tasks up to SIL 3 (EN 61508) or category 4 PL e (EN ISO 13849). In combination with the PXV position system and the integrated safety functions of the 'SMX' series, a wide range of safety-related applications in the field of logistics and conveyor technology can be implemented economically. The variants are optionally available with a safe fieldbus interface for Profisafe / FSoE / CIP-Safety.
