CodeMeter encrypt Python applications
Wibu-Systems' CodeMeter technology now also offers protection and licensing for applications with artificial intelligence and machine learning.
With the CodeMeter from Wibu-Systems, manufacturers can now protect their Python applications independently of the platform. The Python programming language is becoming increasingly popular, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning. This is also the crux of the matter: the growing popularity of the programming language is also attracting the interest of hackers. Attackers can easily access the intellectual property of software written in Python, as the software is usually delivered completely unprotected in plain text and can therefore be easily analyzed. Even if it has been precompiled into machine code using tools such as Cython, it can still be analyzed by experienced hackers. During this pre-compilation, the platform-independent Python code is transformed into a platform-dependent, native application.
Previously, users were already able to protect a native application created via precompilation with CodeMeter. CodeMeter has now been extended to allow Python applications to be directly encrypted and protected in a platform-independent manner. In addition, individual functional areas of the protected application remain encrypted until they are needed. This makes it even more difficult to spy out the computer's memory using so-called memory dumps. As usual, manufacturers can use the existing, secure CodeMeter functions, for example the flexible licensing models such as single user, floating network and subscriptions. Individual program parts can be encrypted and licensed separately, allowing manufacturers to easily implement the popular feature-on-demand or modular licensing business model. Integration into existing continuous integration systems is flexibly possible thanks to the automation function.
