Calibration software for robotics
This keeps the robot tool precise
In addition to switches, buttons and sensors, Captron Electronic also offers measurement and calibration technology for industrial robotics. One of the new additions to the PLC is a software module for calibrating tool center points (TCPs), i.e. end effectors such as tools and grippers.
Captron has been offering TCP laser measuring units for the precise measurement and calibration of robot tools and devices for some time now. At SPS, the company is now presenting a specially developed software module for the calibration of TCPs. Captron's TCP measurement technology for production lines with various industrial robots ensures precise measurement and tool calibration with a reproducibility of 0.01 mm. The redundancy of the two lasers for the X and Y axes prevents incorrect measurements of both metallic and non-metallic objects due to reflective laser beams. Different designs of the TCP measuring units and integrated fitting holes enable precise positioning in series production.
"Commissioning the TCP calibration is time-consuming, even for experienced programmers," explains Michael Haas, Automation Technology Engineer at Captron. "One to two days of work is normal. With the new software module, the time required is now reduced from several days to just a few hours. Programmers without a lot of experience will benefit most from this. The time saved due to the faster operational readiness of the system is of course also reflected in cost savings for the company."
Captron will also be presenting new fill level probes and the capacitive sensor technologies of the "Caneo" series at the SPS. The smart all-in-one intralogistics solution "OneGrid System" will also be on show. The OneGrid System is a paperless warehouse management software. Users can increase the effectiveness of their intralogistics processes by 20 to 50 percent with the pick-by-light solution. Captron will also be showcasing the capacitive pushbuttons of the "Caneo Series", which allow all function parameters to be freely configured via IO-Link - be it button sensitivity, actuation type, minimum actuation time or the appropriate one of 16 million light colors. Users can flexibly integrate the Caneo pushbuttons into networked environments.
