Incubed IT is a developer of a software platform that provides autonomous navigation tools for the administration, management and optimization of mixed robot fleets in industrial environments. "This acquisition is further evidence of Verizon's commitment to developing new and innovative businesses and use cases that leverage the power of 5G," said Rima Qureshi, Chief Strategy Officer at Verizon. "Orchestrating mobile robots is a challenge that organizations face today and will become even more important in the future. By integrating incubed IT's autonomous software with Verizon's 5G platform, we will be able to drive robotic automation at scale."

Upon completion of the transaction, and as Verizon continues to expand its 5G coverage, capacity and mobile edge computing capabilities, Incubed IT 's autonomous software will enable enterprise customers to realize new efficiencies as they scale their autonomous mobile robot fleets. The software allows robots to autonomously locate and navigate themselves and can be integrated into virtually any mobile robot.

Incubed IT employees will join the Verizon New Business Incubation team, whose mission is to scale new automation projects driven by the power of 5G. The Incubed IT team will continue to drive development, sales and support for its customers and product portfolio with a fleet of diversified robotics partners.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the first half of 2021.
