Robots stir up the Leipzig trade fair
Soccer skills were in demand not only at the European Football Championship in France, but also at the 20th RoboCup in Leipzig at the end of June. The players were not humans, but smart robots. In addition to soccer, they demonstrated their skills in the disciplines of care/service, rescue and industry.

Since 1997, it has been held at various locations around the world, including China and Brazil. This year, Leipzig was the venue. The RoboCup competition is backed by a global community with over 10,000 members. Their vision: in the year 2050, a team of autonomous robots wants to compete against the reigning FIFA World Champion - and win.
The next RoboCup venue is Nagoya, Japan, from July 25 to 31, 2017.
