Automatica Trend Index
Robot boom in the German SME sector?
The use of robots in medium-sized companies is increasing rapidly: 81% of automation decision-makers in Germany who took part in the 'Automatica Trend Index' study believe this. The use of collaborative robots in particular appears to have a promising future.
According to the 'Automatica Trend Index' study - which was commissioned by Falk Senger, Managing Director of the Automatica trade fair, in the run-up to Automatica - the course has already been set for the use of robots in the majority of German companies: 52% have either already automated with industrial robots or are currently specifically analyzing the possible applications of robot technology for their own company. 27% are generally interested in the new solutions. Only 5% have decided against the use of industrial robots.
Companies are particularly focused on this: So-called cobots, which as lightweight robots are cheaper to purchase than classic industrial robots (88%). The ability of robots to communicate with their human colleagues via sensors and image processing is considered important to very important by 85%.
