Inka Krischke,

Robot and control neutrality

fpt Robotik is launching a programming language for all manufacturers and kinematics onto the market: According to the provider, the fpt ICON Programming control platform allows industrial robots and automation systems to be operated and programmed without any prior knowledge.

Using Plug & Play, each system is automatically networked into the overall process. The core idea of 'robot neutrality' includes plug-and-play-capable standard automation based on icon-based robot programming. The platform-independent software forms the core. The preconfigured plug-and-play components can be removed from or added to the system via a standardized hot-connect interface between the individual automation components. The advantages of the two programming methods teach pendant programming and offline programming are combined. Ideally, all components can be flexibly added, programmed and controlled using a single user interface. According to fpt Robotik, this means complete manufacturer independence for the user.
