New robot control option

Yamaha Robotics launches the RCX3-SMU functional safety option for the 'RCX340' robot controller for SCARA and Cartesian robots with three or more axes.

The 'RCX3-SMU' has been certified by TÜV Süd for functional safety and is equipped with safety functions that comply with the ISO 10218-1 robot safety standard. The STO function, the SS1 function and the speed monitoring function facilitate the design of safe devices. According to Yamaha Robotics, the main safety features include Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1), Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safely Limited Position (SLP), Safety Input Function and Safety Output Function.
