New president for robotics association IFR
The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) has elected Steven Wyatt (ABB, Switzerland) as its new President. Wyatt succeeds Junji Tsuda (Yaskawa Electric Corporation), who has served in the rotating role since December 2017.
Steven Wyatt is Global Head of Portfolio and Digital for ABB'sRobotics & Discrete Automation business. Prior to joining ABB in 2010, Scottish-born Wyatt worked in a number of senior marketing and sales roles in the plastics industry worldwide. Prior to his election as President of the IFR, Wyatt supported his predecessor Junji Tsuda as Vice President for two years. Milton Guerry (Schunk, USA) now assumes this office. Guerry leads the Schunk USA team as President and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA).
The International Federation of Robotics sees itself as the voice of the global robotics industry. It represents almost 60 members, including manufacturers of industrial robots and national robotics associations from over twenty countries. The IFR was founded in 1987 as a non-profit organization.
