The background to the personnel decision is, among other things, the strong growth in recent years at the company for individual process solutions and large-scale intralogistics projects.

The current portfolio of the system and plant manufacturer SMB International, which has a history of over fifty years, includes filling systems, storage systems, palletizers, robotics, conveyor technology and ship loading systems. In recent decades, the company has increasingly positioned itself on the global market: Numerous large-scale projects have been and are being produced by the company, and customers are increasingly ordering complete solutions in the field of storage systems and palletizing systems. This is to be further strengthened by the international experience of the second Managing Director: As a former production manager and managing director of an American company, Dr. Arne Dethlefs has in-depth experience in the manufacturing SME sector. After completing his doctorate, he first became Head of Production at Garz & Fricke and later CEO of one of the company's companies in the USA.

Managing Director Andreas Heckel will make personnel an even greater priority in the future and will also remain responsible for international business, sales and finance as well as Managing Director of MBA Instruments, a provider of level measurement technology and conductivity measurement.
