Kuka cooperates with Hyundai Heavy Industries

The companies Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings and Kuka are entering into a strategic partnership: Ki-sun Chung (Hyundai), Dr. Till Reuter (Kuka) and Stefan Lampa (Kuka Industries) have signed a letter of intent to this effect.

The strategic framework agreement was signed between the Robotics Division of Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings (Hyundai Robotics) and Kuka Robotics Korea - the local subsidiary of Kuka.

As part of the partnership, Hyundai Robotics intends to expand its product portfolio, particularly with regard to new technologies and products, small robots, human-robot collaboration (HRC) and mobility solutions. Kuka also aims to expand its business with existing and newly acquired Korean customers. "We will strengthen our customer focus in Korea through Hyundai Robotics as a strategic sales and marketing partner and expand the Korean customer portfolio," said Stefan Lampa, CEO of Kuka Industries.
