Acquisition
Keba Acquires Automation Company Transtechnik
The Austrian Keba Group is acquiring Transtechnik, based in Ahuy near Dijon. The French specialist in automation and mechatronics solutions will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Keba’s Industrial Automation division.
Transtechnik was founded in 1987 and develops custom automation solutions for various industries. The company supports projects from consulting and planning through the selection and integration of components to commissioning. The industries it serves include, among others, cosmetics, packaging, and food.
Keba and Transtechnik have been collaborating in the field of industrial automation for several years. With this acquisition, both companies aim to expand their operations in the French market. Keba is combining Transtechnik’s application expertise with its own portfolio of automation and linear motor technologies.
Transtechnik’s location in Ahuy near Dijon, as well as the “Transtechnik” brand for the French project business, will remain in place. The employees will also be retained. The previous owners will continue to serve in local management roles and are expected to support the further development of the French business.
The contract was signed on July 15, 2026. The purchase price was not disclosed. The transaction is still subject to the necessary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the fall of 2026.
Voices from the Companies
“The acquisition of Transtechnik is a logical step in our growth strategy for France. It strengthens our local presence in one of Europe’s most important automation markets and lays the foundation for further expanding our business there over the long term. At the same time, we are combining Transtechnik’s market and application expertise with the Keba Group’s broad technological capabilities. In the medium term, we will use this first location in France to establish a hub that we will leverage for local business development across all Keba business segments,” explains Christoph Knogler, CEO of the Keba Group.
Keba is already active in France with solutions for automation, self-service applications, and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. With this new location, the group will have its own local organization to serve industrial customers and further expand its market activities.
“Transtechnik and Keba have known each other for many years through their successful business relationship in the French market. Becoming part of the Keba Group opens up new opportunities for us to further develop our range of solutions and to continue supporting our customers reliably and with a high level of technical expertise. At the same time, the Transtechnik brand, our team, and our location in Ahuy near Dijon will remain unchanged—this ensures continuity for customers, partners, and employees,” explains Bruno Coupechoux, Managing Director of Transtechnik.
